What is
Nordic Walking?
Nordic walking is an enhancement of ordinary walking – it makes something we can all do, twice as effective!
It is a specific fitness technique not simply walking with poles like trekking poles or rambling.
Who are
Harrow Striders?
Harrow Striders was started by Sue & Den Collen in April 2017. After enjoying nordic walking together, they wanted to share the health and wellness benefits they experienced with others in their local communities.
The London Borough of Harrow has a huge array of free green spaces, parks and woodland areas. Together as Harrow Striders, Sue and Den have developed their nordic walking programmes around these outdoor spaces to offer a wide variety of walks at different levels and intensities to meet the differing needs of people in our community.
There are regular weekday and weekend walks in the country parks and nature reserves around Stanmore and Harrow. Most walks are scheduled for an hour so that they can be fitted into your exercise programme easily, but we plan a longer walk further afield once a month on Walkabout Wednesday for example taking in some of the scenic routes along the Chess Valley We aim to end our walks with a social chat and cup of tea or coffee when we can.

Testimonials
I cannot thank you enough for coming into my life!!! The walk today was amazing so beautiful. I love to be pushed and to have a good workout and would like more of this theme please. I had difficulties with the bare pathways as I am no expert on the roads with my poles yet! Otherwise I adored it! More more please!
I am particularly grateful for the current small size of our group. It makes for a higher teacher-pupil ratio and greater visibility of our flaws/strengths.
It does feel difficult and we are encouraged to learn in a relaxing way. I also love the Great Outdoors!
Great instructors, great locations, great group.
Good coaching, flexible arrangements, tailor made to suit individuals, Very friendly teachers.
